What is a Midwife?
A midwife is a trained healthcare provider who walks alongside you through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum season. We provide personalized, evidence-informed support while honoring your choices and intuition. As midwives we use shared decision-making to guide your care. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel informed, empowered, and deeply cared for throughout your journey into parenthood.
We specialize in caring for low-risk women who are candidates for out-of-hospital birth, while continuously monitoring the health and well-being of both mother and baby. At the time of birth, midwives are trained to recognize and respond to complications early, with skills in prevention, stabilization, and emergency care when needed.
Certified Professional Midwives follow the Midwives Model of Care (MMOC), this includes:
Monitoring the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle.
Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support.
Minimizing technological interventions.
Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention.

We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach to our care with clear communication to meet every client where they are at. I specialize in intimate care, therefore I only take 3 clients per month to ensure each mother has concentrated attention.

My highest priority is to meet women where they’re at- respecting client autonomy while coming together to make shared decisions about maternal and infant care. I believe evidence can be paired with personal experience, ancestral knowledge and intuition.
I have a small, but cozy office in Muskegon County. You’re welcome to come in, make yourself some tea and have a seat where we will spend an hour on your care.

The cost of full spectrum care with Woven Midwifery is $5,000. This does not include lab work and ultrasounds. Unfortunately we cannot accept insurance, however we do offer payment plans. We also accept community cost sharing programs as well as HSA’s. I accept a small number of sliding scale clients per year. Please contact me to see if you qualify.

A midwife is your primary care provider throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Midwives provide clinical care, monitor the health and well-being of you and your baby, order and interpret labs and screenings, provide education and counseling, and manage normal pregnancy and birth.
A doula provides non-clinical emotional and physical support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. They may offer comfort measures, positioning, breathing techniques, encouragement, and continuous support for you and your partner.
At Woven Midwifery, your midwife provides both clinical care and hands-on support, while also strongly encouraging clients to add a doula to their birth team.

Depending on availability I do welcome late to care clients. Please reach out to inquire!
