Serving West Michigan:

I work within a 40 minute radius of my office at 2225 Temple Street in Muskegon.

Areas served include: Muskegon, Grand Haven, Holland, Zeeland, Whitehall, Montague, Grand Rapids, Fremont & surrounding areas.

General Overview of Midwifery Services:

• Initial prenatal visit which includes history intake, a physical exam, prenatal exam and initial lab work. A dating scan with point of care ultrasound may be done if available.

• 1 hour long appointments every 4 weeks until 32 weeks of pregnancy.

• 1 hour long appointments every 2-3 weeks after 32 weeks, then weekly closer to birth.

• Ordering and reviewing the 20 week anatomy scan.

• Gestational diabetes screening at 24-28 weeks of pregnancy.

• Access to the Rhogam injection if applicable.

• Obtaining a 37 week lab work up which includes group beta strep screening and complete blood count panel.

• Filing the birth certificate and assisting with employment paperwork.

• Attendance of the labor & birth with trained birth assistants or 1 additional midwife.

• Access to medications such as injectable Vitamin K or Erythromycin eye ointment for infants if desired.

• Newborn screenings including CCHD, Hearing & Metabolic screening.

• Postpartum visits in home at 24-36 hours and again at 3-5 days postpartum then 2 week and 6 week postpartum visits in the office.

• 6 week physical exam, pap and final labs upon request.
